Wishes Fulfilled- Wayne Dyer

I'm sure you have wishes, hopes and dreams, like just the rest of us.  Well, what if you could find an easier (and more effective) way to get your wishes fulfilled?  Would you listen?  Would you think that it was possible?  Of course it is, if you think the right way. 

Here we have the newest release from spiritual teacher and author, Wishes Fulfilled by Wayne Dyer.  It is another book on manifestation.  It is not quite out yet, but you can pre-order it here.  I'll give it a review at another time.  But I know that if it is a Wayne Dyer book, it will be great, just like all his other stuff.

And if you are really into manifesting and enjoy the book, there is also an audio CD by the same author. It focuses on using meditation to fulfill your wishes which you can get here.

What is Happiness?

Today I am doing a quick post on the question "What is happiness"?  The actual definition is very vague as happiness is quite subjective. So how do you know when you are experiencing it?  Here is a great (although lengthy) video given by a monk speaking about the concept of happiness, or as he likes to say, wellness.



What is Happiness and How Can We Identify It?
So happiness is a sense of internal serenity and fulfillment. And we each experience happiness in varying degrees, varying times. We each have our own quest in what we think will make us happy.  But sometimes, it is not in what we have, but in what we feel at any given moment. 

So what is the key to happiness? Many times, the answer of what brings us that sense of fulfillment and joy is quite different than what we thought in our minds.  Sometimes it is just a matter of letting ourselves go with the flow and allowing that random surge of happiness to enter our beings. It might surprise you how and what brings you to that state, but that is the magic of happiness, no? Hopefully, the video helped you to identify what is happiness and how you can apply it in your life.

Taming Your Gremlin aka Ending Your Self Defeating Behavior


Taming your gremlin is basically taming your inner voice.  It is that little self defeating behavior in all of us that makes us doubt ourselves.  So how do you quiet those negative thoughts?  How do you turn off your inner critic?

Taming Your Gremlin- How to Get Rid of Self Defeating Behavior
Taming Your Gremlin is a book by Rick Carson.  It is a book that has stood the test of time.  It was originally published in 1984, but it has had recent revisions and still continues to sell even to this day.  So how do you tame your gremlin?  Well to answer how to tame your gremlin, first you have to acknowledge what and how it makes you behave.  Your little inner monster never has anything positive to add to your experiences, it stifles your creativity, your hopes, your dreams, your goals.  Your gremlin is how you interpret all your events, so it taints your outlook on life in a negative way.  But there are easy techniques to overcome your everyday challenges and live a positive satisfying life.  This book will focus on:
  • your continual negative patterns
  • helping you become aware of your thoughts 
  • how you respond to certain emotions and circumstances
  • you in your relationships
  • imagining different scenarios for better outlook
  • getting over certain common excuses we tell ourselves
  • practicing mindfulness
One thing to note.  It may or may not bother you.  There is a lot of reference to gremlin in this book.  So much so that you may think it is overkill.  But I think it is used that often so it is ingrained in you that this little monster always exists in you. And it is all up to you to tame that little beast into silence. Anyway, if you can get past that aspect of the book, then everything else should just flow and help you in overcoming limiting beliefs.

Taming Your Gremlin is great in showing you effective ways to deal with your inner voices.  After all, we are our own worse critics, right? Why not get all the help we can get for more inner peace and less inner chatter.

 

Words of Gratitude- A Simple Act of Gratitude


Do you take time out of your day to give thanks?  Not to anyone in particular, but just focus on words of gratitude for everything that you have in your life?  Many of us are guilty of taking all that we have for granted.  Why?  I don't think we intentionally go out of our way to not give thanks, but it just happens that we tend to just not say anything.  What would happen if we just started with a simple act of gratitude?  Would our lives be that much different?


Words of Gratitude: How Can it Change Your Life?
When we live with gratitude, we focus on the wonderful things in our lives.  We express graditude to the people around us and the lessons we learn along the way.  Expressing gratitude can be transformational. Simply focusing on the positive in our lives, help tune out the less trivial.  It strengthens our bond with the world and the people in it.  It helps us grow and continue in our abundance. 

One such story of a transformational experience is this book called A Simple Act of Gratitude: How Learning to Say Thank You Changed My Life.   It is the memoirs of a man who felt hopeless, and things in his life were not going the way he had planned.  Then he got the idea to start sending thank you letters to everyone he knew.  He set out to do this for every day of the year.  So as he was doing this, he started to notice things were different within him.  He was opening up, having stronger connections, becoming healthier in body and mind and having overall inner peace.  All from sending out thank you notes.  

How is this transformation possible?  Well, think about it.  When you write a thank you letter or note, you  write in a positive tone.  You focus on giving thanks, gratitude to someone else. You show appreciation.  You feel inspired enough to reach out and write to another human being.  You focus on the other person's good qualities.  You can't help but bring in positive energy as you yourself are releasing this positive energy into the world.  On a daily basis. 

It may seem strange that simple words of gratitude can have such an effect on a person's emotional state, but isn't that what meditation and affirmations do?  Both help in empowering us and focus on our well being.  Both attempt to center us.  Expressing gratitude should be no different.  Even on a smaller scale, when done on a consistent basis, you can't help but notice positive changes in your life.  You tend to start appreciating things in your life that you would not have before.

Throughout this gratitude book, the author was sending out these positive messages to people in his life, and in turn, he was receiving positive gifts as well.  He started to see the power and effect of his words of gratitude in his life and those around him.  This book even show how to write thank you notes if you are inspired enough to start on this same gratitude path.  I think you will be after reading this wonderful book.

Abundance Mentality- Get More in Life

I have just had an amazing episode, or breakthrough.  I'm not sure what you would call it.  It literally just happened minutes ago. I believe it is due to my practicing an abundance mentality.

You see I have been focusing on the law of attraction, having a positive mental attitude and visualizations.  I have been watching tons of Youtube videos about abundance, wealth and positive subliminal message videos.  So I believe it is working.  It is powerful.  It is opening me up and allowing me to experience feelings and events and helping me become more in tune with my energy.

Abundance Mentality- Can It Help You in Winning the Lottery?
The particular videos below are from Abrahams-Hicks.  It is all about winning the lottery.  You have to be in an abundant state, or vortex before anything can happen further.  First you have to believe in your core.  You have to have an abundance mentality.







My Abundance Mentality Vision
Anyway, as I am watching part 1, I am feeling good, hopeful, emotional.  I don't know about you, but when I read inspirational stories, or watch inspirational videos, I get very emotional and get "in the moment".  So, as I am watching this, I have tears rolling down my face.  It feels good.  I am joyous, I have everything I need.  I have my eyes closed and feel the spoken words.

As the second part is starting, about a few minutes in, I have a great breakthrough.  It isn't anything that was said at that particular moment, but that is when it happened for me.  I have my eyes closed, tears are running, and my nose is a little runny too.  I see blackness in my vision.  It is in a rectangular horizontal frame.  It comes and goes.  Then I see my image.  I am standing in my beautiful spacious balcony in my home overlooking a gorgeous landscape of the world below.  To my right, in the corner is a small wrought iron white table and my parents are sitting there enjoying the view with me.  This image keeps flashing in and out within the black frame in my head.

But what is more interesting as I am experiencing this, I start to cry out loud with joy, emotion and laughter.  I am now literally crying and laughing out loud both at the same time, and my tears are abundantly flowing.  It feels amazing.  I think at this point I am laughing and crying with my eyes open and just experiencing this wonderful moment of abundance.  And this abundance mentality does not have to apply only to winning the lottery, but in having overall abundance in all areas of your life.

I know that abundance is flowing within me and showing itself all around me. I am grateful to have just experienced this awesome moment and able to tell others about it.  I strongly urge everyone to get in touch with your own abundance and let it flow to you.  Get in the habit of living with an abundance mentality. We are all limitless beings.  We are all energy.  We are all abundance.  Thank you.

Purpose Driven Life

Are you living a purpose driven life?  Do you wake up in the morning and thank the universe for the work you get to do?  Not many of us can answer yes to that question.  But why?

It seems that it would be an easy choice to make.  Do what you love.  Right?  I mean, why spend your time doing stuff that you despise?  I know.  I know.  You have commitments and responsibilities so you need to make money and pay the bills.  I hear ya.  BUT your life should be a limitless life, full of wonder, full of hope, full of greatness.


What Is a Purpose Driven Life?

A purpose driven life is a life lived with purpose.  Simple right?  You go through your life doing things that are meaningful to you.  Things that make you smile.  Things that make you come alive.  But how often do you choose to live that way?  And yes, it is a choice, no matter what you might think.  We choose our paths.  We make our own situations happen.  Whether you realize it or not, you have chosen just about all that you have in your life.  

Choosing a Purpose Driven Life 
You have a choice in how you live your life.  You get to decide if you work at that crappy job.  You get to decide what you eat.  You get to decide the hobbies you do.  You get to decide the quality of your life.  You get to decide if you live out your purpose.  You get to decide if you want to continue down that mind numbing road leading to more of the same.  Choose a purpose driven life

Now you may be wondering how to start living your life on purpose.  Well, here is some help.  There is a book on just this topic.  Check out The Purpose Driven Life.  Read it, and then ask yourself those important questions.  What were you put on this Earth for?  What gifts do you have to give the world?  What makes you come alive?  Ask yourself these questions and you will be closer to your answer.  Simply, just do what you love.  Period. That, my friends, is what a purpose driven life is all about.
