What is Happiness?

Today I am doing a quick post on the question "What is happiness"?  The actual definition is very vague as happiness is quite subjective. So how do you know when you are experiencing it?  Here is a great (although lengthy) video given by a monk speaking about the concept of happiness, or as he likes to say, wellness.

So happiness is a sense of internal serenity and fulfillment. And we each experience happiness in varying degrees, varying times. We each have our own quest in what we think will make us happy.  But sometimes, it is not in what we have, but in what we feel at any given moment. 

So what is the key to happiness? Many times, the answer of what brings us that sense of fulfillment and joy is quite different than what we thought in our minds.  Sometimes it is just a matter of letting ourselves go with the flow and allowing that random surge of happiness to enter our beings. It might surprise you how and what brings you to that state, but that is the magic of happiness, no?
